All students/staff travelling on University business leaving the UK after Wednesday 1 August 2012 will be insured by Chartis.
The new 24 hour emergency assistance number is: +44 (0) 1273 400850.
Travellers please make a note of this and programme the new number into your mobile phone. New Emergency Assistance cards are in the process of being printed and will be available from Occupational Health upon request shortly. In the meantime the University is will upload a PDF version to the Travel Overseas webpages at www.port.ac.uk/special/overseastravel/travelinsurance/emergencyassistance.
All existing blue or pink assistance cards issued by either AonProtect or Maven should be destroyed.
Leaving the UK on University business before 1 August 2012
Any members of staff/students leaving the UK on University business before Wednesday 1 August 2012 will continue to be covered under the existing Maven travel insurance policy until they return to the UK, even if they have a claim after 1 August. In the event of an emergency, they should call the existing assistance number +44 (0) 7173 7797.
