Thousands of people across the UK will be joining together to ring in the first day of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of Work No. 1197: All the Bells.
University Artist in residence Jon Adams will be ringing a handmade bell in the Eldon Building.
Work No. 1197: All the bells in a country rung as quickly and as loudly as possible for three minutes, by Turner Prize-winning artist and musician Martin Creed, is a London 2012 Festival commission and will be performed by people across the UK.
If you would like to take part, come along on Friday 27 July at 8.00am to Eldon Building, ready to ring your bell at 08.12am (12 hours before the start of the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics). Anyone can take part by ringing any bell whatsoever.
