Recruiting for student bloggers now

Closing date: Friday 5 October 2012

At the University of Portsmouth we know how important it is for prospective and new students to hear the student perspective on life here. With this in mind, we set up a blogging team of students and asked them to blog regularly about their course, lectures, socials, work – basically everything to do with student life. You can read the blogs at www.port.ac.uk/studentblogs.

The student blogs have proved to be a great success and we are looking to recruit more bloggers to the team. Student bloggers are required to blog regularly, taking into account the potential readership and making sure their content is appropriate for current and prospective students and their parents.

Do you know any students who may be interested?

We would love to hear from any current student at the University, whether undergraduate, postgraduate, part-time, mature and research students, and students from overseas.

How to become a student blogger

To join the blogging team students must write a piece of no more than 750 words on an aspect of their experience here at the University. They could write about their course, any societies they are a member of, a fieldtrip they’ve been on, any interesting research projects, their favourite unit on their course, or any other aspect of student life.

Entries must be sent as a Word document to studentblogs@port.ac.uk by Friday 5 October 2012, including the student’s full name, course and year. If they are a mature or part-time student, they should also mention it. We will be reading the entries after that date and will contact any successful applicants later in the autumn term.
