It’s G-Day in just five days, when you’ll login to your University of Portsmouth Google Apps account for the first time.
We’ve created the Post-migration Checklist to help you with some of the actions that you will need to take on G-Day, or shortly afterwards, including:
- transferring your GroupWise archives to Google
- granting delegated (proxy) access to your account
- sharing distribution lists
Make sure you’ve completed the Pre-migration Checklist in advance.

Hello
I’m using groupwise with the catching option on my laptop. I’m rarely at the university campus site so I have an off campus use of it. I would like to know if I will be able to use Googls app in the same way that I’m using groupwise : ie. to have all my emails physically on my laptop and to be able to use use google aps without being connecting, such as replying email, consulting emails, etc..).
other thing: how can I transfer my archive folders to google without using the university system (k or N drives).
regards
pierre

Goggle Apps is ideal for people who are frequently away from the campus. Although it works best with some kind of Internet connection, it is also possible to work offline with Google Chrome. There is more information about this here:

GroupWise archives can be migrated and there are instructions here:

It’s easiest to do this on campus, but it can also be done remotely. The Service Desk can help if you run into trouble.
