UPSU Green Impact Excellence Biodiversity Project

For 2012/13 the Students’ Union is taking part in the NUS Green Impact Excellence programme. The strand they will be focussing on is Biodiversity.

In conjunction with the Portsmouth City Council’s  Countryside Ranger we will be putting on biodiversity taster sessions on:

  • Wednesday 6 February
  • Wednesday 27 February

These sessions will include practical engagement in improving biodiversity through the creation and maintenance of woodland, restoration of hedgerows, the maintenance of reed beds and by carrying out biodiversity surveys.  The tasks are by no means limited to these because there is plenty to be done.  The work above will take place at Hilsea Lines.

Travel to Hilsea Lines will be via train.  We will meet at Portsmouth and Southsea train station at 12.45pm on each of these dates and will return by 5.00pm.
