On Thursday 25 April Blackwell’s bookshop (Cambridge Road) will be hosting a joint book launch at 4.00pm celebrating four recent publications by members of the School of Social, Historical and Literary Studies (SSHLS) History team.
The books are Brad Beaven’s Visions of Empire: Patriotism, Popular Culture and the City 1870-1939, Karl Bell’s The Legend of Spring-Heeled Jack:Victorian Urban Folklore and Popular Cultures, Rob James’ Popular Culture and Working Class taste in Britain, 1930-1939: A round of cheap diversions? (which will shortly be out in paperback) and Jodi Burkett’s Constructing Post-Imperial Britain: Britishness, ‘race’ and the radical left in the 1960s.
All are welcome and refreshments will be served.
