The events will be held on:
- Wednesday 9 July 2014
- Saturday 12 July 2014
- Saturday 4 October 2014
- Saturday 18 October 2014
- Saturday 1 November 2014
We will continue to offer events with a rolling programme throughout the day, meaning that our visitors can drop in when they choose and tailor the day to suit their own requirements. We will be keeping all of the familiar elements from previous events, offering welcome talks, coach tours, walking tours, departmental visits and halls tours. We also include talks on housing and finance, an information fair and tours of the University Library and sports facilities. The Union will also have more of a presence at this year’s events.
We aim to create a lively and busy campus event with staff involved from all areas of the University, and students on hand to answer any questions. We will continue to offer a number of registration points across the campus.
We are holding two dates in July, as prospective students wish to visit the University earlier in the application cycle. Saturdays are commonly requested by prospective students and their parents, and in addition it was important for us to schedule as many dates as possible outside of teaching time to allow the University to cope with the demand on its teaching spaces. Arrangements for weekend working will need to be discussed with your line manager and agreed with your faculty or department management team.
The Marketing Campaigns team would like to thank all staff across the University who worked hard on the events last year. You all ensured that the days were a complete success, with strong numbers of visitors to the University – a 5 per cent increase on the year before – and we look forward to receiving your support again this year.
Please put these dates in your calendar. We’ll be in touch directly with people who help out across campus on these events to make more definite plans for all events.
We will notify all staff when bookings for these events open in the next six weeks. Bookings are usually launched at the beginning of March to coincide with the launch of the new 2015 undergraduate prospectus.
