Concerned About Security?
Many of you may have concerns about the safety of passing card details over the Internet. However you can be confident that using WebPay is extremely secure, as we use Barclaycard's trusted ePDQ Cardholder Payment Interface.
When you begin entering details on the webpay form, your identification details are processed on the University servers and then handed over to the Barclaycard ePDQ secure system where you will then be asked for your online payment details to be entered.
ePDQ CPI captures and stores your card details for Barclaycard, so the University doesn't have to. As all responsibility for the storage of card details on secure servers then lies with Barclaycard, they can ensure that you receive the very high levels of security you would expect from a major financial services company.
ePDQ CPI Security
ePDQ CPI uses high level encryption, with connection to the Barclaycard secure server using 128 bit SSL encryption. ePDQ CPI also encrypts stored information ensuring that its not tampered with.
Fraud Prevention
ePDQ CPI offers a wide range of fraud prevention screening features.
When entering your card details on the Barclaycard site the information is relayed in real time to the card issuer who will verify that the address, the card number and card security code (found on the back of a card on the signature strip) match those held by the card issuer. The transaction will only be confirmed when the card issuer is satisfied that the transaction is not fraudulent.
