What is RSS?
University of Portsmouth RSS (RDF Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication) feeds allow you to read through some of the University's regularly updated content, such as news or events at your own convenience.
Using an RSS reader of your choice, updated content appears as and when things are updated on our site, in just the same way as a new email would appear in your inbox.
You can view RSS feeds from within your browser, or you can use a dedicated RSS reader on your desktop PC or Mac.
Perhaps the easiest and useful way to utilise RSS feeds though, and one that doesn't involve downloading a dedicated news reader is to add the feeds directly to a personalised homepage like those available with Yahoo, Google, Microsoft Live or NetVibes.
