Your University of Portsmouth student email account is delivered to you by Google Mail along with other Google services such as calendar, documents and sites.
The University will use it on a regular basis to send you important information. Your email address will be ‘forename.surname@myport.ac.uk’ and you can keep your account for life, so you won’t have to transfer all your email and contacts when you leave.
You are expected to check your account daily – you can do this via www.myport.ac.uk either on campus or at home. If you fail to do so you may miss valuable information.

I work for the UoP Information Services. You will be unable to login as firstname – surname, you have to use your student account number UP123456 etc. Although you can use that firstname and surname as your email address.
