Staying at James Watson Hall this year? Here’s what to do before you arrive:
- Complete your ‘e-intro to halls’ online induction
- Prepare to bring with you:
- Two printed copies of your accommodation contract
- Two passport-sized photos of you
Journey and registration times
If you have problems on your journey and cannot make your allocated check-in time, please call the hall at 02392 843880.
Registration and collection of door entry FOBs will take place at Purple Door reception, next door to the Hall, between 10.00am and 5.00pm from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 September 2012.
You should park and register first before unloading to move into your hall.
To park while registering, the University advises you to use the multi-storey car park off Isambard Brunel Road, just five minutes’ walk away.
At weekends spaces are also available in the University car park beside Nuffield Centre, behind University House (off Waltham Street), and at Melbourne Place car park (off Melbourne Road). Melbourne Place car park closes at 7.00pm every day.
Unloading and moving your belongings
Once registration is complete, you may unload near the main entrance to your hall.
Parking is restricted near the entrance, so the University asks you to unload quickly and then move your car to a public car park, to allow access to other students. On weekends you may also use the University car parks indicated above.
Halls staff will be on hand at all locations to help with directions and guard your baggage in the foyer while you move your car. Do not leave your car unattended; local traffic wardens patrol the area.
