I’m a Research Fellow in Cosmology at the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation in the University of Portsmouth. Prior to this, I was a postdoctoral researcher in cosmology at JPL / Caltech / UC Riverside. I got my Ph.D. in physics at the Institute of Space Sciences (ICE) in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2016.
I develop new numerical cosmological simulations in the preparation of future cosmological experiments, that will produce the most accurate maps of the large-scale structure of the Universe. The ultimate goal of these missions is to better understand the properties of the elusive dark matter and dark energy components of the Universe. However, cosmological models can only be constrained if accurate theoretical predictions can be made and if the data analysis is realistic enough (accounting for all relevant statistical and systematic errors). I generate realistic simulated catalogs, which serve as a laboratory to make theoretical predictions with alternative models of gravity and to test methodologies under clean and known conditions.
