Carolyn Watt is a lecturer in Visual Culture in the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries. She is a PhD candidate (Nov 2016 – Oct 2019) on the EU Interreg 5A France (Channel) England PONToon project in the Faculty of Creative & Cultural Industries (CCI) at the University of Portsmouth. Her practice-based research explores a group of young women’s experiences of learning aerial circus skills integrated with training in digital media technologies. As a circus performer and instructor this research emerges from Carolyn’s long-term practice. With a background in research support and assistance work, combined with commercial performance work, Carolyn has a diverse blend of academic and performance expertise.
