Elena Ward is Senior Lecturer in Italian and Area Studies. A graduate in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Bologna, Italy, she has a MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Westminster, London.
The units she teaches include Cinematic Representations of Italian Society, Italian National Identity, Modern Italian Society and the Introduction to Italian Studies. In the past, she has taught Italian to senior business executives, worked as a freelance translator and had several children's books published. Since 2006, she has been a consultant for the BBC and played a major role in writing and editing new editions of their popular learning books, Buongiorno Italia and Get By In Italian.
