Research Interests

My research focuses on the concept of dialogue. I am interested in the philosophical aspects of dialogue theory as well as in concrete applications of dialogue within cross-organisational collaborations for sustainable development. My current research investigates multi-stakeholder dialogue initiatives involving civil society, the business sector and NGOs and their similarity (as well as differences) to communities of practice. I am also currently working on a few papers on coaching and walking, stakeholder engagement theory and dialogue theory within business ethics and organisational studies. I have also been invited to share my research findings at academic conferences (e.g. University of Sharjah, Dubai) and at international events (e.g. the celebration of the 15th anniversary of United Nations Global Compact at the General Assembly Hall in New York, 2015).

Biography

My background is in Ethics (BA and MA at the University of Florence and the Sorbonne University, Paris IV) and Business Ethics/Organisational Behaviour (PhD at Henley Business School). As doctoral researcher, I focused on the specific type of inter-organisational and collaborative process, called multi-stakeholder dialogue (dissertation title: “Multi-stakeholder dialogue: a theoretical and descriptive analysis of stakeholder engagement practice informed by dialogue theory”). I have given lecturers in Business Ethics, Organisational Behaviour and Stakeholder engagement & dialogue. I have also collaborated with the United Nations Global Compact on a research project assessing the effectiveness of multi-stakeholder round-table initiatives involving multinationals, NGOs, the UN and civil society organisations. I am also a trained facilitator, coach and sustainable business consultant, with experience in the public and private sector.
