Summary

I'm a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at the University of Portsmouth.

Before this, I was a MOD (Ministry of Defense) Research Fellow and EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Research Council) Research Associate at the Division of Clinical Neuroscience under the directorship of Jonathan G Hardman at the School of Medicine, University of Nottingham, UK.

I completed my Ph.D. in the School of Mathematical Science under the supervision of Professor John Robert King, David de Pomerai and Simon Preston at the University of Nottingham.

My research is devoted to the development and analysis of mathematical and computational models used in clinical medicine and biology. I have used applied mathematical topics, including non-linear dynamical systems, ordinary and partial differential equations, numerical analysis, asymptotic and perturbation methods to carry out the requisite modelling analysis in these two fields. By using a wide range mathematical techniques and transferring the state-of-the-art technologies from control engineering and laboratory experiments into biology and medicine, my research aims to contribute a significant improvement in the understanding of underlying mechanisms of the biological/medical process that deliver (for medical problems) a significant improvement in diagnosis and treatment of several diseases. My research also goals to generate predictions that can be experimentally verified particularly for systems biology and medical problems. A number of clinical applications of the results of my mathematical modelling are used on patients at hospitals by my clinicians' colleagues with whom I am still working.

I acted as a potential reviewer for few leading international journals, including Mathematical Medicine and Biology: a journal to the IMA (Oxford), Journal of Mathematical Biology (Springer), Mathematical Bioscience, and Nonlinearity (London Mathematical Society and IOP). I also act as the editorial board member of few journals including Journal of Biological Systems and Austin Journal of Pulmonary and Respiratory Medicine. I am also a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (FIMA).
