I studied Visual Communication and Experimental Media Design at the University of the Arts Berlin, which I completed as Meisterschüler (MA) in 2008. My interest in combining the theory and practice of design within the intersecting areas of visual cognition, knowledge transfer, and information architecture led me to study further, as a Research Fellow in the interdisciplinary research training group “Notational Iconicity” at the Free University of Berlin. In 2012 I completed a PhD in Media Philosophy and, having spent 12 years in Berlin, I decided to move to London.
In the academic year 2013/2014 I started teaching as an Associate Lecturer in the department of Spatial Design and Contextual and Theoretical Studies in the School of Design at London College of Communication. Parallel to teaching, my design practice encompasses information design, branding, design research and user experience.
