I am a Senior Teaching Fellow, teaching undergraduate students across all subject groups within Portsmouth Business School.  Subjects taught include microeconomics and macroeconomics at introductory and intermediate levels, together with the history of economic thought.  I supervise undergraduate economics dissertations across a range of topics, recent examples including infrastructure investment and applied labour market research.

After graduating in 1980, I initially worked as a production planner within a global manufacturing business before re-focusing on local and regional economic development.  Following completion of a masters programme in 1984, I spent the following 26 years working as a practitioner and consultant in economic development, before taking early retirement in 2010. I began teaching economics in a Further Education college in 2011, and moved to the University of Portsmouth in 2013.
