I am a Registered General Nurse and I have had a varied nursing career, both as a civilian and within the military.
I joined the university in December 2017, following a teaching role within a hospice as a Lecturer in Palliative Care where I led a programme called Six Steps+ which is an End of Life care programme for care homes.
I have had experience in Higher Education at the University of Surrey and also at Birmingham City University, and I have recently been succesful in becoming a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
My recent clinical roles have included working as a Senior Staff Nurse in a Nursing Home for Ex Service Personnel with Acquired Brain Injuries and also within a hospice setting.
I keep my clinical skills updated, by having an honorary contract one or two days per month in a secondary care setting.
I currently support the Nursing Assessment Skills, Person Centred Practice and Developing Nursing Practice units on the BN programme. I am currently an Admissions Tutor, a Personal Tutor and Link Lecturer for West Sussex.
Published in Gallagher and Hodge (2012), Ethics, Law and Professional Issues. I am interested in Advance Care Planning and would like to pursue this further.
