Key aims
We have two short-term objectives: an international symposium (which was held in Portsmouth in April 2016); and secondly the drafting of research proposals to fund projects designed to respond to it.
The School of Civil Engineering and Surveying has a considerable track record of research activities related to issues of water infrastructure and engineering in its broadest sense. There is recognition that engineering disciplines alone will not be able to solve many of the key societal challenges, of which issues related to flooding are particularly important.
