I am passionate about encouraging female entrepreneurs and hope to play my role in encouraging more University of Portsmouth female students to start their own businesses.

SJ Hunt's career began as an investment banker, becoming the first female bond trader at the time.

Since then, SJ has held numerous positions of responsibility with extensive international experience, including 6 years living in Japan.

Over the last 7 years SJ has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and company secretary of a regulated mortgage-lender. Introducing transformational change and digitalising processes, she has taken it from a loss to a profit-making entity.

SJ is actively involved with several voluntary board roles. This includes being Deputy Chair of Solent Enterprise Partnership.  She is a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business alumna and a 2020 Inspirational Woman in Social Enterprise (WISE) recipient. In 2020, SJ received two small business of the year awards and the national Retirement Mortgage Product Innovation Award at the Mortgage Finance Gazette Awards.

SJ is passionate about helping the next generation have opportunities and the tools to pursue their passion. Her motivation in her current role is about providing options for people's individual circumstances, providing a bespoke service and innovating to the needs of the community.
