Ever thought earning while you're learning? You can with a degree apprenticeship. In this session, you'll learn about how they work, what's involved, hear from a current UoP apprentice who's studying business, leadership and management and get tips on how to apply.

Day 2 – Tuesday 15 December

Talk: The economics of lockdown and COVID-19

How can we use the economic technique of 'game theory' to explain why people appear to act irrationally in the current pandemic? Why doesn't everyone just stay at home? And why was there a shortage of loo roll? We'll discuss these questions and more as we look at the economics of the pandemic and the implications on people.

Talk: Dilemmas Facing Leaders and CXOs

In life and in business, having a strategy can be the difference between success and failure. We're here to show you that decision making is a skill that can be learnt, and it starts with an awareness of the cognitive bias and decision traps that can lead to problems.

Show us your skills. As part of this interactive session, you'll get a chance to negotiate the sale of a car to show you what this means in practice.

HR is not only about recruitment. It also helps to evaluate strategic policies and practices, dynamic employee relations, and complex organisational design and behaviours in a globalising world.

Ever had an idea that you thought could become a great business idea? In this session, you'll have the chance to rate the business plan presentations of University of Portsmouth students and decide who you would invest in. Who's getting your bid? And does our panel of experts agree with you? Join us to make your case.

Talk: Finance in the real world

Finance is all around us. In an ever-connected world like ours, it's more important to understand than ever. In this session, we'll discuss some examples around this and simulate a real-life stock market investment scenario.
