Unconditional Offer Scheme

How the scheme works

We want the best and the brightest people to join us, because there's no better proof of our excellence than the successes of our students. Our Unconditional Offer Scheme lets us offer a guaranteed place to a UK or EU student we think will make a significant contribution to our success.

How it works

First, our admissions team reviews all the applications we receive. They'll then make conditional offers to applicants who meet the entry requirements of their chosen course(s).

At the same time, they'll advise a small number of people – based on their achievements to date, predicted grades and current teachers’ assessments – that they're eligible for our Unconditional Offer Scheme.

If we decide you're eligible for our Unconditional Offer Scheme, then it's proof of how strongly we believe in your future – and we expect you to feel the same way about us. So to benefit from the Unconditional Scheme, you'll need to make us your Firm choice. Once you do that, we'll upgrade your offer from conditional to unconditional.

Once you've accepted, you'll still need to complete your exams and meet our minimum standard entry requirements – 2 A levels (at A*-E) and 3 GCSEs (at grade C/grade 4 or above) – to join us. More than that, we expect that the security of your unconditional offer will help you focus on your final year of pre-university study, and allow you to achieve the best results you can.

Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship

As part of the Unconditional Offer Scheme, applicants may be eligible for our Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship Award. The University's Scholarship is an award of £1000 for especially high-achieving applicants who are offered and firmly accept an offer from this 2018 scheme. We'll release further details about the award later in the application cycle.
