Hibah applied to study at Portsmouth through Clearing when she changed her mind about where she wanted to study...

I had accepted an offer from another university and applied for accommodation. A week before Clearing, I decided to change as I was worried it was too far from home. 

I phoned the Clearing hotline and the people on the phone were nice and helpful. They suggested courses which were suitable for me and which I’d be interested in, based on my grades. I loved the courses that were on offer.  

While I was waiting for the change in university to be confirmed, I worried my space would be given to someone else. The head of media at Portsmouth called me up and reassured me that my place was secure, which I really appreciated. 

My biggest worry about Clearing was not getting a place in time and having to go through private housing and not having the experience of living in halls. I overcame it by going through private halls and still experiencing the ‘halls of residence’ life.

The best thing about getting a place at Portsmouth is the University being so tight-knit. I love meeting new people.
