John Flint joined the HSBC Group as an International Officer Trainee upon graduating from Portsmouth Polytechnic in 1989. He served the HSBC Group in 9 different countries and progressed through the organisation to become Group Chief Executive, and Chairman of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation in 2018.

Whilst at HSBC, Mr. Flint was a member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore International Advisory Panel, the International Business Council of The World Economic Forum and the Climate Finance Leadership Initiative. He was also a Global Commissioner of the New Climate Economy.
