Luke's story

BSc (Hons) Computer Games Enterprise

During A-levels, I didn’t know what I wanted to do next until I found the Computer Games Enterprise course while browsing the UCAS website. Even though I never knew it existed before, I was sure it was perfect, combining two of my passions: business and video games.

The University of Portsmouth has helped open up opportunities for me that I wouldn't have had before. The course helped me get a two-month internship as a Product Manager at a significant mobile games company. The employment period was extended to twenty one months while I completed my final year of studies. This whole experience has helped both my professional and personal development significantly. I've been able to grow in confidence and business acumen, simultaneously outputting industry-standard work on a consistent basis.

With only a few weeks left before my graduation, I was able to secure a full-time position as an Associate Product Manager with BossAlien, working on the Star Wars IP. Going forward, I can see myself progressing within the field of Product Management, with an end goal of setting up my own game studio in the future.
