SIGHT: Business Planning and IP Considerations Workshop
The SIGHT Business Planning and IP Considerations Workshop will discuss how to prepare a business plan and what you should consider in terms of intellectual property (IP). Whether you are starting a brand new venture or are already operating and about to seek new investment or have new opportunities that need protecting, this interactive workshop is for you. It will cover how to prepare a concise yet compelling business plan, as well as tips on how best to structure and present your plan for maximum impact and results. It will also cover the IP aspects you should consider to ensure you have a clearly defined pathway for your business.
Toby King is an experienced serial entrepreneur, founding his first company over 30 years ago and working in medtech venture-backed businesses ever since, in the UK and Silicon Valley. He has been through six exits, and numerous funding rounds. Over the last 10 years he has spent much of his time investing in and advising early stage tech business
Mark Barber has a mechanical and production engineering background spent mainly managing the new product development process with internationally based teams. He also specialises in advising companies across many industry sectors, on innovation commercialisation and IP strategy planning, acquisition and exploitation appropriate to their business.
SIGHT (Supporting Innovation and Growth in Healthcare Technologies) is an ERDF-funded business support project led by the University of Portsmouth in conjunction with the Wessex CRN and Portsmouth Hospitals Trust, which is designed to enhance the competitiveness of SMEs in the healthcare sector.
