Professor David Andress, Professor of Modern History, in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Portsmouth, will be delivering an online recorded session: “Why should Black History matter to everyone?”

David will offer an overview of the history of colonialism and slavery, looking at some notable individuals, as well as the myth and misinformation created over the years to the modern day. This is a good opportunity to find out what's really been known to historians.

This event will be followed up with a virtual Multicultural Staff Network facilitated discussion (on 21 October) reflecting on David’s presentation and the implication for race equality in Britain today. Book here for the session.

Zoom joining instruction will be mailed to you after registration.
