What are Strategic PhD Scholarships?
Our new Strategic PhD Scholarships are fully-funded projects that explore the University's strategic priorities. Each seeks to address an important and urgent issue facing society and the planet.
Cross-faculty and inter-disciplinary by design, these strategic projects also represent an opportunity to build strong research relationships across the University, and with our external research partners.
These directly-funded studentships cover tuition fees and an annual maintenance grant of £15,009 (UKRI 2019/20 rate) for 3 years. Scholarship recipients will also receive up to £3,000 for research project costs/consumables during the duration of the programme, and will be expected to take part in cohort-related activities including joint training, social and related events.
