Incident, Accident, Near Miss, Hazard or Risk

Whether you have experienced an accident or incident, perhaps you have seen something unsafe, report it to us.

The University encourages reporting of all incidents, accidents, near misses, hazards and risks related to its activities. Reporting these are essential to enable corrective and preventative actions to be taken promptly to prevent a reoccurrence. They are also an essential part of improving the University’s health and safety performance. 

These reports remain confidential and are only used within Corporate Health and Safety department, where necessary, anonymised statistics are shared. 

 

Reporting

All all incidents, accidents, near misses, hazards and risks, however minor, should be recorded and reported to us by submitting a HS1 Form.

 

These are now available on service manager/ hornbill via the Health and Safety Hub. If you are unable to access the hub or are are reporting from an external source, please contact us by emailing hsservicedesk@port.ac.uk.

 

If there is any concern that health is affecting work or that work is affecting health as a result of any incident or accident at the University, please let us know or if you are a staff member or student, talk to your line manager or course administration.
