Some of our collaborative research projects and external partnerships have their own microsites too.

- portsmouthtechnologiestrialsunit.org.uk – The Portsmouth Technologies Trials Unit (PTTU) is a collaboration between the University of Portsmouth and the Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. The unit specialises in running research studies, including clinical trials in new healthcare technologies.
- dickens.port.ac.uk – Dickens and the Victorian City explores the parallels between nineteenth century London and Portsmouth, and Portsmouth's associations with Dickens, his family and his interests from theatre and novels to philanthropy.
- porttowns.port.ac.uk – Port Towns and Urban Cultures is a research group established in 2010 by leading members of the School of Area Studies, History, Politics and Literature. The group's aim is to further our understanding of the social and cultural contexts of ports across the globe from the early modern period.
- xenopusresource.org – The European Xenopus Resource Centre (EXRC) in Portsmouth is funded by the Welcome Trust, NERC and BBSRC and provides tools and services to support researchers using Xenopus models.
- railwayaccidents.port.ac.uk – The Railway Work, Life & Death project is a collaboration between the University of Portsmouth, the National Railway Museum (NRM) and the Modern Records Centre at the University of Warwick (MRC). The project analyses railway worker accidents in Britain and Ireland from the late 1880s to 1939.
- supernaturalcities.co.uk – Supernatural Cities is a network of scholars exploring the representation of urban heterotopias, otherness, haunting, estranging, the uncanny, enchantment, affective geographies, communal memory and the urban fantastical.
- thesimexseries.org – The Simex Series is the UK’s largest annual international disaster response exercise. It is an operational (live controlled) field exercise designed to establish a learning environment for players to exercise disaster event response plans, policies and procedures.
