This instalment of the University of Portsmouth's Research Futures webinar series is chaired by Leïla Choukroune, Professor of International Law and Director of the University of Portsmouth Thematic Area in Democratic Citizenship and sees a presentation by Suresh Nanwani, Professor in Practice in the School of Government and International Affairs, Durham University.
This talk introduces and explores different international financial institutions, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Professor Suresh Nanwani also discusses the project cycle used by these institutions, World Bank country partnership Serbia, anti corruption, accountability mechanisms and civil society.
Speaker's Bio:
Professor Nanwani has more than 30 years' development work experience in international organisations including the World Bank. He was formerly Counsel at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Advisor at the Asian Development Bank. He has a PhD in Organization Development from SAIDI Graduate School of Organization Development, Philippines; LLM degree from University College London; and LLB degree from the National University of Singapore. He has lectured in various countries including Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Peru, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
