Summary

I lead the MSc in Crisis and Disaster Management

I lead the Hazards, Risk and Resilience Research and Innovation group

I am in charge of the University of Portsmouth Rock Mechanics Laboratory

I contribute to teaching across geohazards, volcanology, and applied risk science.

Biography

I am a volcanologist with more than 25 years experience in evaluating volcanic hazards, crisis preparedness and impacts from multi-hazard systems.

My research bridges physical volcanology with operational aspects of risk management and community resilience, focusing on applied, collaborative projects and initiatives that supports safer, more resilient societies.

I have led and contributed to major international collaborations across the Caribbean, Latin America, and Europe and currently work on projects in Chile, Italy and the Canary Islands.
