Biography

I am senior lecturer in accounting at the department of Accounting and Financial Management. Before I joined University of Portsmouth, I obstained PhD in Accounting and MSc in Accounting and Financial Management in Lancaster University in 2008. Recently, I completed my 2nd master degree in Data Science in Lancaster University.

My research interests are earnings quality, audit, corporate governance and machine learning. More recently, I am interested in more how the technology development, especially Artificial Inteligence (AI)  and its related fast-growing data-analytical tools can be used to contribute to accounting as a profession and related accounting research areas (such as accounting quality and audit).

My current teaching invovles modules in Business Analytics, Critical Issues in Accounting and Finance, Financial Reporting, Analysis and DecisioN-making. Having engaged in programming (Python, R, Java), machine learning and AI (swarm agent learning), I hope to explore more business intelligence modules and equip business-background students with data-driven analytical skills.
