Summary

Dr. Stavros Shiaeles is an Associate Professor in Cybersecurity and Co-Director of the PAIDS Centre at the University of Portsmouth. He has authored over 130 publications, which have garnered more than 2,500 citations, reflecting his significant contributions to the field. 

Over the past five years, Dr. Shiaeles has successfully secured external funding totaling approximately €18 million through various EU Horizon 2020 collaborative research grants in cybersecurity. Currently, he is the Principal Investigator for the Horizon XTRUST-6G collaborative research project for the University of Portsmouth's Cybersecurity team, which has a budget of €8 million. These projects have focused on advancing cybersecurity measures, including the development of intelligent cyber-defense frameworks and innovative intrusion prevention systems.

Dr. Shiaeles holds several professional certifications, including EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), EC-Council Advanced Penetration Testing (CAST611), ISACA COBIT 5 Foundation, and Cyberoam Certified Network and Security Professional (CCNSP). He is also an EC-Council accredited instructor, providing professional certifications training in cybersecurity and penetration testing. Additionally, he is a Senior IEEE Member, Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS), a Silver member of ISACA, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
