Biography

I completed my PhD at the University of Southampton in 2009 with joint supervision from the Department of Psychology and the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (signal processing engineering). After my PhD I held a number of postdoctoral research positions looking at child development. I joined the University of Portsmouth in August 2015 to set up and run the Portsmouth Birth Cohort Registry. I became a Senior Lecturer in Evidence Based Health Care in 2018 and I teach a range of different health care professionals. Additionally, I supervise a number of postgraduate research students on projects related to evidence and health.

Research interests

My primary interest is in childhood development. I have assessed the developmental trajectories of children born at high risk, as well as tracking typical child development in a birth cohort project.
