Summary

I am a Senior Teaching Fellow for the Portsmouth Military Education (PME) team based at Royal Air Force (RAF) Halton.

I joined the PME team in May 2019, initially teaching at RAF College Cranwell, and since August 2020, I have been based at Halton.

I previously taught at the University of Nottingham as a graduate teaching assistant where I  taught modules such as “the War in Iraq” and “Political Theory: From Ancient to Modern”. 

Research interests

I completed my PhD in International Relations at the University of Nottingham, where I researched political violence in Israel.  My research and teaching interests include:   
  • international relations 
  • conflict and security
  • war and politics
  • military strategy
  • Israel and the Middle East
  • Ukraine
  • NATO
  • political violence and terrorism
  • right-wing political ideology

I am willing to take PhD students, and I am happy to receive informal enquiries relating to research in any of the above indicated areas.  

I make regular appearances on international broadcast media, often discussing the situation in Ukraine.

Teaching responsibilities

I am teaching on five courses currently offered at RAF Halton.

Media availability
