Mr Daniel Piccolo

Summary

I am a PhD Student and part time Teaching Fellow in the School of Sport, Health and Exercise Science, focusing on ageing and clinical exercise physiology.

My research is looking at the potential to use extreme environments (e.g., hot water) to improve vascular, cognitive and muscle health in older populations.

Research interests

My research interests include:

  • Passive heat therapy
  • Extreme environments for at risk populations
  • Healthy ageing
  • Older adults
  • Cardiovascular health
  • Blood biomarkers of health

Teaching responsibilities

I teach laboratory classes in Level 4 Introduction to Exercise Physiolgoy and Level 7 Clinical Exercise Physiology modules, with a focus on exercise testing for clinical populations.
