Summary
I am a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth with research interests in forensic and investigative psychology. My research focuses on deception detection, investigative interviewing, and the use of sketching techniques to enhance information gathering and credibility assessment. My PhD examines how different sketch recall methods influence verbal and sketch-based cues to deception, plausibility judgments, and lie detection accuracy.
I teach across undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes, with a particular focus on forensic psychology, professional practice, and research methods.
Research interests
My research interests are in forensic and investigative psychology, with a particular focus on deception detection, investigative interviewing, memory recall, and sketching techniques to enhance information gathering. I am interested in credibility assessment, plausibility judgments and the application of cognitive psychology to investigative practice.
Teaching responsibilities
I teach across undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes, with a particular focus on forensic and investigative psychology and the psychology of offending behaviour. I am involved in module leadership, dissertation supervision, and outreach activities that promote engagement with psychological research and higher education.
