Summary

I am a Senior Lecturer of Accounting and Financial Management and the International Tutor of Accounting and Financial Management in the Faculty of Business and Law.

My teaching lies in the areas of financial management/investment at level 5 and level 6. My research focuses on the impact of IFRS adoption on the usefulness of accounting information and the potential structural change amid major accounting regime change.

Biography

I joined as Lecturer of Accounting and Financial Management in 2015 and was appointed to Senior Lecturer in 2017.

Prior to the appointment, I had a teaching role in accounting and finance department at Bath as Graduate Teaching Assistant from 2010 to 2014. I also acted as E-tutor on a global MBA programme at Manchester Business School during 2010/2011. I was self-employed trader on equity market and property investment consultant between 2007 and 2010. I graduated from Cardiff University with BSc (Hons) in Accounting in 2006 and had an MSc in Finance and Investment from University of Bristol in 2007.

Research interests

My research interests are primarily in the following areas:

- the impact of IFRS adoption on accounting quality in the mandatory setting

- usefulness of financial ratios in predicting stock market performance amid major accounting regime change

- Potential structural break around IFRS adoption

Teaching responsibilities

I am Module coordinator of Financial Investment (level 6) and Studying in the UK Business Environment (level 5, Direct-Entry Tutorial Programme). I also teach Financial Market and Institutions (level 5) and Advanced Corporate Financial Management (level 6) and supervise undergraduate student dissertations (level 6).
