Summary

I am a full-time Lecturer in Marketing. I received my PhD in Business Administration and Management from the Università degli Studi di Pisa in Italy. 

I collaborate with the Responsible Management Research Center in Pisa. I jointly coordinate the Sustainable Innovation Research Hub at the University of Florence and I am a member of the editorial team for the British Food Journal.

Biography

I graduated from the University of Florence in 2014 with an MSc in Marketing. Before starting my PhD, I obtained a 1-year research grant and worked as a Teaching Assistant at New York University’s centre in Florence. 

In 2018 I completed my PhD in Business Administration and Management at the Università degli Studi di Pisa with my thesis on corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication. During my PhD studies I was Visiting Scholar at the University of Bath’s Centre for Business, Organisations and Society. I worked as Research Fellow in the area of sustainable retailing before joining the University of Portsmouth in September 2019.

Research interests

My work has been published in high-quality peer-reviewed marketing journals, such as the Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal and the urban policy and planning journal Cities. I have presented at various national and international events such as the European Marketing Academy, Global Fashion Management and Academy of Marketing Science conferences.

My current projects are:

  • Consumer perception of retailers' CSR

  • Consumer engagement in digital CSR communication

  • Sustainable fashion consumption

  • Consumer response to brand socio-political activism

  • The use of parody in CSR communication

  • Hypocrisy perception and CSR communication

Teaching responsibilities

My teaching responsibilities include the coordination of the Services Marketing module. I also supervise undergraduate and postgraduate marketing dissertations and students following the Doctor of Business Administration programme.
