Dr Emily Walsh

I am the Course Director of Undergraduate Law Programmes in Portsmouth Law School and a Principal Lecturer specialising in land law.

I have experience in teaching contract, tort and conveyancing. My research interests include land law, landlord and tenant law and housing law. I am particularly interested in socio-legal research in my chosen discipline.

I have written a textbook on landlord and tenant law.

Having studied law at Southampton University I qualified as a solicitor in 1996. For the next eight years I worked in North Africa and the Middle East teaching and training teachers.

In 2005 I returned to the UK and worked as a solicitor specialising in commercial real estate.

In 2010 I joined the School of Environmental Design and Management at the University of Portsmouth teaching land law and landlord and tenant law. I also presented a number of RICS accredited CPD courses to surveyors on property related legal issues.

In 2017 I joined Portsmouth Law School to teach land law and contract law. I became Director of Undergraduate Law Programmes in 2018.
