I work with degree apprentices as the deputy course leader of the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship course and am a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. I am a tourism marketing researcher and my PhD is investigating ocean cruise passenger behaviour in the preconsumption phase. I have published in several tourism journals and industry practitioner publications.
My research interests relate to the tourism experience, with particular focus on pre-travel, loyalty within visitor attractions and the development of the cruise sector.
I have taught at the University for over 6 years workig in tourism and marketing at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. Currently I work as the deputy course leader for the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship course; teaching the apprentices and liaising with their employers and industry stakeholders . In additon, I taught on the BA (Hons) Hospitality Management course for several years .Throughout my time at the University I have supervised both undergraduate and post-graduate dissertations, covering a variety of marketing topics. Professionally I have experience from many sectors of the travel and tourism industry, including airlines, tour operators, travel agencies and cruise companies, working for companies such as British Airways, Thomson and P&O. I am currently studying a PhD which is considering passsenger consumer behaviour in the pre-consumption travel phase in the ocean cruise sector.
