Summary

I am a Teaching Fellow in Education and PGCE Physical Education Lead, with a professional background spanning secondary Physical Education teaching, pastoral middle leadership and Head of Girls’ Games roles.

My teaching and research interests centre on Physical Education, teacher education, girls’ experiences of PE, and the factors that influence young people’s participation and engagement in physical activity.

I am currently undertaking an Educational Doctorate, with my thesis titled An investigation into how adolescent girls' perceptions of female Physical Education teachers influence their participation in PE lessons in independent schools. Through my research and work in initial teacher education, I am particularly interested in how teachers can create inclusive, empowering PE environments that support girls’ confidence, engagement and participation.
