Biography

Paulina Bronfman leads the WAVES project at the University of Portsmouth, UK, funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship scheme, and collaborates as an Associate Researcher at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile on the Género, biopolítica y creación project, examining inequities in Chilean culture and higher education. She is an interdisciplinary researcher whose work explores how cultural practices, gender relations, and education intersect to shape social possibilities and inequalities. Dr. Bronfman’s research draws on arts-based methods—such as Photovoice and documentary video—to investigate how gender and social justice interact. Her work includes peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and two co-authored books, including Performance, ciudadanía y activismo en Chile 2010–2020 (Osoliebre, 2022) and Estrategias ecológicas, prácticas artísticas performativas y activismo medioambiental en Chile 2013–2023 (Oximoron, 2025).
