

Mr Rallis Papademetriou
Biography
Rallis Papademetriou, a Life Senior Member of IEEE, a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics & Its Applications and a Chartered Engineer, was educated at the University of Patras, Greece and at Imperial College, London. He is a Principal Lecturer in the School of Energy & Electronic Engineering at the University of Portsmouth, lecturing predominantly at MEng and MSc level. He has supervised successfully many MRes/PhDs in the areas of communication networks and statistical signal/image processing. The joint recipient of two best research paper awards, he has published extensively on signal processing and communications in professional journals, conference proceedings and edited books. He has co-organized and has been on the technical program committees of major IEEE conferences and has co-edited a number of journal special issues. His teaching, being closely tied to his research and publishing activities, includes Communication Systems Analysis, Digital Modulation & Coding, Network Design & Management, Engineering Mathematics, Management Analytics and High Speed Digital Design. Rallis is also member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Institute for Operations Research & the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS).
