Biography

Dr. Rich Boakes' professional journey balances a deep-rooted history in the tech industry with a distinguished career in academia. He began at the forefront of the dot-com era, contributing to the earliest uses of web technologies at pioneering companies such as IBM and Netscape. His industry experience includes significant projects with telecom giants like Orange, Vodafone, and British Telecom. Transitioning to academia, Dr. Boakes has become an award-winning teacher and learning designer, and currently holds the position of Associate Head in the School of Computing at the University of Portsmouth.

Novel applications of user-centred systems and web technologies.
