Summary

I am currently Course Director of MSc Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship in the Faculty of Business & Law and coordinate two of its entrepreneurship modules. 

My research is published in Annals of Operations Research, International Review of Entrepreneurship, Technology Innovation Management Review and Journal of Entrepreneurship. I have been a reviewer for Small Business Economics, TQM Journal, International Journal of  Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research and have been a consultant to Promethean, UK, Lupin Laboratories, India and Diamines & Chemicals, India.

In 2012, I worked to create Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM)’s team in India and as its member, represented India at the 2012 GEM Annual Meeting in San-Francisco.

In 2017, I received the University of Portsmouth Vice-chancellor’s Recognition Award for management of MSc Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship and in 2018, I received the Faculty of Business & Law’s Inspiring Teacher Award.

Biography

I earned my PhD on Innovation and New Product Development in Scottish Food Industry from Edinburgh Napier University. I also have a master’s degree in economics and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. I have been a Professor of Business Economics at the MS University of Baroda, India, Visiting Professor in Entrepreneurship at Lancaster University Management School, E-moderator for University of Liverpool’s online MBA, Reader in Economics at Sherubtse College, Bhutan and Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Edinburgh Napier University. I have written and published poetry in Hindi.   

Research interests

My research interests are in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation. Entrepreneurial intentions, innovation by SMEs, entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship and economic growth are the areas of my current research.

Teaching responsibilities

I am the coordinator of undergraduate module Contemporary Issues in Entrepreneurship and of the postgraduate module, Entrepreneurship Theory. I also teach on the module International Enterprise as well as teach research methods to students on two postgraduate courses.
