Emma Turner - Stylised 3D Character Sculpt of a fantasy-themed hunter.

Designing the Character

For my Create Worlds module in my final year of studying Computer Games Art, I created a stylised character sculpt of a fantasy‑themed hunter. The project took around four months and involved learning and experimenting with a wide range of new tools and software. I began by designing the character, drawing inspiration from games such as Breath of the Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn, producing many sketches before settling on a final design. I then used ZBrush to sculpt the character and its polypaint feature to texture it, before rendering a series of shots and turntable videos in Marmoset Toolbag 5 to showcase the final piece.

Designing the Character

Creating this sculpt strengthened my existing skills while also giving me the chance to explore new concepts, techniques and workflows. The Create Worlds module offered space to push my practice further, and the experience has equipped me with approaches and processes I’ll carry into future projects.
