Creator and Founder at The Mindful Movement Coach

Claire Tamplin

As a Former Student, I am incredibly humbled and grateful to work with the University of Portsmouth and join the Entrepreneurs in Residence Programme.

I look forward to leading, delivering and of course learning from other learners too – as we together cultivate a culture and community of connection, compassion and creativity for the next generation of exceptional business leaders.

Claire Tamplin, Creator and Founder at The Mindful Movement Coach

Claire, Mother of two, Founder of The Mindful Movement Coach, has been a Secondary School Teacher of English for over a decade, graded ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted for her ‘sheer vibrancy’ and now an award winning Educational Well-being Mindful Movement Specialist, recently receiving the Inspirational Women of Portsmouth ‘Role Model’ Award 2022; for her work in mental health in Education and the Community.

Claire believes in life long learning beyond the classroom, a soul evolution for all ages. Her wish is to ‘cultivate a kind, compassionate, non- judgemental and secure culture that allows our essence to flourish. Authenticity, truth, empowerment and peace for all.

Claire has studied Senior Leadership at Institute of Education, University of London; focusing on Emotional Intelligence, has delivered lectures to Trainee Teachers at Portsmouth University for almost ten years and has been invited to teach at the prestigious World Yoga festival, sharing her vision for emotional literacy across the curriculum.

Claire writes for OM Yoga and Lifestyle magazine and has her own radio show on Express FM, called ‘Cultivating Courageous Conversations’, whereby she interviews inspiring people within the community and invites them to lean into conversations sharing their mental health journeys. Recently she has interviewed Stephen Morgan, School’s shadow Secretary and Joe Wicks, The Body Coach - who went on to endorse Claire’s important work and liken it to ‘P.E with Joe.’

When she is not driving the force and movement for well-being in education and the community, Claire loves being near (or even better!) in the sea, walks in nature with her children, writing and running. Claire recently ran The Brighton Half Marathon for Solent Mind Charity.

In 2022, Claire was invited twice to talk to The House of Commons regarding the power of Yoga in education for mental health and well-being and is on a mission to ensure that Young People get the specialist mental health and emotional literacy support they need as whole human beings.

Claire is working closely with The Teen Yoga Foundation to gather research to close the gap between the communications and infrastructure between the health and education sector with wellbeing and mental health.

Claire is proud to work with all ages from Schools: Pupils, Staff, Leadership, Local Charities and Globally, National Air Traffic Control for UK and China.

At a time when the world has never needed wellbeing support more, Claire is power striding her Mindful Movement Mission across our City.
